Biography
Dr. Lili Nasseri is a primary care specialist in Vancouver, BC. She grew up in the
multi-cultural city of Montreal with friends from around the globe and has worked
across the country from Happy-Valley Goose Bay in Labrador to the idyllic town of
Tofino in British Columbia.
Dr. Nasseri studied medicine at McGill University and went on initially to train
as a pediatrician at Montreal Children's Hospital. Despite the constraints
of medical school and residency training, she made time to travel. She studied dermatology
in Denmark in 2000. Later in 2004, she went to Morocco to provide medical relief
to children in villages outside the city of Ouarzazate. It was shortly after this
trip that she decided to become a family physician, so that she could help people
of all ages.
Dr. Nasseri took this opportunity to move to the east coast and to discover the
Maritimes. During this time she traveled and worked across the Atlantic Provinces,
from Nova Scotia to PEI. She ultimately settled in Moncton, New Brunswick where
she took over a large family practice whilst continuing to work in the emergency
room, delivering babies, and working at a sexual health center for adolescents.
She also started a refugee clinic through her practice. Her ability to speak French,
English, Farsi and Spanish allowed her to provide the much needed medical care to
the many refugees from Columbia, Venezuela, and Africa.
While working in Moncton, she began writing a travel column, 'The Maritime Traveller'.
It is published monthly in the Times and Transcript, New Brunswick's largest
daily circulation newspaper. She uses this column as a means to share her experiences
and enthusiasm for travelling with others.
Dr. Nasseri has now settled in British Columbia to be closer to family. She continues
to enjoy travelling and sharing her knowledge with others through the practice of
medicine, writing and seminars. She is currently working on her first book.
